now, on to my lip gloss problem. i dumped out my purse makeup case and noticed something about my lip products. these are the lip products that i carry with me on a daily basis:
notice something wrong with this picture? i need to expand my lip color palette, but i am such a chicken! i never stray from peachy/pinky nude lips. ever.

1. nars multiple in south beach (i use this on my lips and cheeks)
2, nars lipstick in promiscuous
3. lancome juicy tubes smoothie in hallucination
4. nars lip lacquer in chelsea girls
5. nars lip gloss in greek holiday
6. iman luxury lip shimmer in blushing nude. besides carmex, this is my fave drugstore product.
7. laura mercier lip glace in champagne.
occasionally i will buy a gloss in another color, but i am too chicken to wear it. by the way, i have a passionate hatred for red lipstick. i will never wear red. ever.
what kinds of colors should i try? or, should i just stick with what works for me already?

Well I probably am no help because I stick to what works! I also despise red lipstick...
At least you HAD lip gloss! In this move I swear ALL my purses were emptied. I couldn't find any lip gloss or chapstick to save my life and it needed saved... I'd just eaten an orange Popsicle! I do love a strong pink!

I have a lip gloss problem too! I just got Smashbox in Flash and Candid - they look great layered. It's kind of a coral color but not too bright and obnoxious. And they are not sticky which I love!
Maybe try a pinky mauve color. Try it in a sheer formula to see if you like it.
I have a few of your same colors too.
Try Clinique: black honey it's sheer and is sooo pretty! It's not like your others.

i agree. remember when we went to sephora and both agreed that we should stick to our tried and trues? i think a gloss/lipstick close to natural lip color is best. and absolutely, do not wear red. few people can pull it off, and on most ladies, i would say it looks garish.
Red lipstick is my favorite. You need to experiment and try various shades. There is a right one for you out here. And, well, hum, it is just a lipgloss afterall. I have every color under the sun. Try Avon Glimmersticks. They are the best. Read the online reviews and you will see the masses of women who love it. There is even a red and I almost guarantee you will like it. If you cannot be daring with lip color than well....I don't know what to say... Try things!
i just don't know what it is about red lipstick. it just seems so unnatural and borderline trampy to me. i can't do it. some women can pull it off, but most of the time, i think it just looks so contrived.
