photo shoot help

of course, the boy and i did not take a single picture this year good enough for a christmas card. i'm quite irritated about it. in the childless/pet free set, our christmas card picture must be smashing to compete with all the cute babies, toddlers and puppies that will fill our mailbox this holiday season. shallow? yes. but everyone has their achilles heel. mine just so happens to be christmas cards.

our card from 2010 is my favorite. we were all made up for a gala.

last year's card had two pictures from vacation and a picture of us on the day we closed on our house.

this is serious business, people. i've resorted to a professional photo shoot. on monday morning,  a photographer is meeting us at home and we will head to a nearby park to try for a christmas card worthy shot and then the boy will head off to work. he is not very happy about that.

what should we wear? i always see so many cute family photo shoots on facebook and blogs, but i am stumped. any colors to avoid? prints are generally not good for pictures, right? argh. of course i didn't seriously start thinking about what we'd wear until today.

The husband and I have the same problem. Last year we wore Santa hats and I had my sister take a TON of pictures. I looked ridiculous in all of them, but I tried to use of of them for a Christmas card this year when I had a coupon for 10 free cards. I was not happy with how they turned out at all, and I don't think I can even send those out now. I think your idea is a good one! I hope the shoot goes well. :)

You always look adorable. I am not much help here sorry. But, I kind of like the Joy card. The fact that you are making the boy do that before work is the best thing every. Poor guy.

I remember your Christmas card last year and my dad walking over to it hanging up and going "GRACE DO I KNOW THESE PEOPLE?!" I just wanted to share that again

Have you already selected the card? Sometimes it's nice to wear a color that is found in the border of your card, to make things "pop." I know you'll do a great job and it'll be beautiful.

I'm sure your photos will turn out FABULOUS!!!!! (In fact, you're probably taking them as I type this).

Usually prints are the main thing to avoid...but small prints can sometimes look pretty too. Can't wait to see what you come up with! :)

Oh my gosh I was just thinking the same thing yesterday- Kyle and I have not taken even one good photo together this year!! I'm trying to get my sister to break out her fancy camera and take some shots of us this weekend. Hope the shoot when well!

I LOVE that you hired a professional photographer for these Christmas cards. I mean, you've got to somehow find a way to keep up with those cute bebes and pets!!

And I don't know if I've ever told you this, but you are your husband are one gorgeous couple!
